WELCOME TO
SYDNEY LINDQUIST

Why do people put in more effort than before and still fall behind emotionally and financially? And why do so many ordinary families feel like they are barely holding everything together? Collapsing Together is a modern social issues poetry book that has answers to all these questions.

About The Author

SYDNEY LINDQUIST

Sydney Lindquist is an artist with many talents who lives and works in California. Her life is a perfect combination of profound learning and devoted family service. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in environmental education. She has also spent years teaching others in museums, aquariums, and classrooms. Nowadays she is juggling being a military wife who is always on the go and a mother of two with a third one on the way. Besides that, she is caring for two interesting pets, Leonard the gecko and Felix the fence lizard. Sydney also talks about science and human behavior on her podcast. She combines her rich background with her poetry about political abandonment in America to help people better understand the world and improve their lives and communities.

About The Illustrator

Sydney’s political poetry book is incomplete without Emrry Maeve creative illustrations. Emrry is only 24 years old but she is already turning the bustling city of Chicago into her source of inspiration through her mixed media and digital artwork. Similarly to the city of Chicago, her style is multi-layered, full of texture and always changing to suit the mood of the project. Emrry collaborates with authors closely so the illustrations she creates are a perfect reflection of their writing, no matter if she is doing a book cover or illustrating a whole scene.

About The Book

COLLAPSING TOGETHER

Collapsing Together is contemporary poetry on social issues and the modern American family. This poetry about modern society reveals the harsh reality of life today. It looks at how much social gaps and political changes affect our mental health, our money, and our homes.

It reveals the plight of marginalized communities and the hidden barriers to things like unfair laws, social stigmas, biased hiring practices, or lack of access to good education that are erected to prevent people from advancing. At the same time, in every line, Lindquist disagrees with the system that abandons us and suggests that what is most needed is an act of kindness.

If you are burdened by the weight of the world or if you are looking for a ray of light, this political poetry book about society points us to the fact that, even when it seems like the world is falling apart, we still can be kind to one another.
